Etsy Shop Stats Explained: Visits, Conversion Rate and Marketplace Insights (2026)
Free Etsy Course, Lesson 27 of 34 · Module 5: Marketing and First Sales · See all lessons
You open Shop Manager, click Stats, and see a wall of numbers. Visits, views, orders, conversion rate, traffic sources. Which ones matter? And what should you actually do with them?
Here is the one thing that trips most beginners up: visits and views are not the same. Mix them up and every other number looks wrong.
This lesson explains every Etsy shop stat in plain English, step by step, plus how to use Marketplace Insights to find keywords buyers are searching for. Everything comes from Etsy’s Help Center, checked in October 2026.

How Do You See Your Etsy Shop Stats?
On Etsy.com, go to Shop Manager and choose Stats. In the Etsy Seller app, choose More, then Stats. Etsy Stats show your visits, orders, conversion rate, and revenue, where your shoppers came from, and how each listing performs.
The 4 Key Metrics
| Metric | What Etsy says it means |
|---|---|
| Visits | The total number of unique browsing sessions in your shop. Several listing views in one session count as one visit |
| Orders | Completed purchases, not the number of individual items sold |
| Revenue | Total sales of all your orders, minus shipping and tax |
| Conversion rate | The percentage of visits to your shop that resulted in an order |
Try it: our free Etsy conversion rate calculator turns your visits, orders, and revenue into conversion rate, average order value, and revenue per visit.
Visits vs Views: The Difference That Matters
- Visits count the people who looked at your shop or listings.
- Views count the total times people looked at each of your listings.
Etsy’s own example: if one shopper lands on your listing from search, then views five other listings, that is one visit and six listing views.
Etsy also shows listing views per visit, the average number of listings a person looks at when they visit your shop.
Step by Step: How to Read Your Stats
- Pick a time period with the dropdown at the top. Etsy lets you see stats from November 2017 to now.
- Check the metrics overview. Select Visits, Orders, Conversion rate, or Revenue to see its graph.
- Compare to last year. If your shop is over a year old, turn on Compare to previous period.
- Look at How shoppers found you to see your traffic sources.
- Open Etsy search under How shoppers found you to see the search terms buyers used.
- Scroll to Shoppers viewed your listings to see views, favorites, orders, and revenue for each listing.
Etsy Traffic Sources Explained
| Traffic source | What it includes |
|---|---|
| Etsy search | Visits from people searching on Etsy.com. Does not include Etsy Ads or app searches |
| Etsy app and other Etsy pages | Visits from the Etsy app, plus pages like category pages, the home page, and favorites |
| Etsy marketing and SEO | Visits from Offsite Ads on Google and Bing, and search engine optimization |
| Etsy Ads | Visits from ads in Etsy.com search results. Does not include ads in the app |
| Offsite Ads | Visits from Offsite Ads on websites like Google and Facebook |
| Social media | Visits from Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and other social sites |
| Direct and other traffic | Visits from people who typed your shop URL, used a bookmark, or clicked a link in an email, blog, or other website |
Why Etsy Ads clicks and visits do not match: Etsy says two clicks on an ad within 30 minutes count as one visit, and the Etsy Ads traffic source does not include visits from ads in the Etsy app. Learn more in our Etsy ads lesson.
Why Your Visits Change During the Day
Etsy refreshes visits data a few times per day to filter out bot traffic. It filters bots again at the end of the day, so your visit count can drop a little. That is normal. Listing views, on the other hand, update in real time.
Time zones: hourly stats for today, yesterday, or the past two days use your own time zone. Other time frames are shown in UTC.
How to Use Your Stats to Improve Your Shop
Use the numbers to find the problem, then fix that one thing:
| What you see | What it likely means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Low views | Buyers are not finding the listing | Improve titles and tags. See Etsy titles and tags |
| Lots of views, few favorites or orders | The listing is not convincing | Improve photos, price, and description |
| Low conversion rate | Visits are not turning into orders | Etsy says photos, price, reviews, titles, descriptions, and shipping and return policies all affect it |
| One listing gets most views | You found a winner | Make related products and consider ads on it |

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a good conversion rate on Etsy?
Etsy does not publish a target number. Conversion rate is the percentage of visits that become orders, and Etsy says photos, price, reviews, titles, descriptions, and shipping and return policies all affect it. Track your own rate over time and work to improve it.
Why did my Etsy visits go down at the end of the day?
Etsy filters out bot traffic again at the end of the day, which may lower your visit count.
What is the difference between visits and views on Etsy?
Visits count the people who looked at your shop or listings. Views count the total times your listings were looked at. One shopper who sees six listings is one visit and six views.
Is Etsy Marketplace Insights free?
Yes. Every seller gets up to 15 keyword searches per week for free. Etsy Plus subscribers get unlimited searches.
How far back do Etsy stats go?
Etsy says you can view your shop stats from November 2017 to the present.
Final Thoughts
Etsy Stats tell you exactly where your shop needs work. Low views point to titles and tags, low conversion points to your photos and listing details, and Marketplace Insights shows you what buyers are searching for right now.
