Etsy does not use a simple average for your shop rating. Its Help Center says your score is a recency-weighted average, where the past 12 months count most and each rating’s weight halves every year. Use this free calculator to estimate your weighted score.
Etsy Review Score Calculator
Etsy says your review score is a recency-weighted average: reviews from the past 12 months get the most weight, and each rating’s weight halves every year. Enter how many reviews you have and their average rating for each year to estimate your score, and see how many 5-star reviews would lift it to 4.8.

This is an estimate based on Etsy’s Help Center description (checked October 2026): weight 1 for the past 12 months, then halving each year. Etsy’s exact formula may differ. Note: Star Seller uses your average review rating over the past 3 months (4.8+), and also needs 95% message replies within 24 hours, 95% on-time shipping, and 5+ orders and $300+ in sales over 3 months.
