How to Work Out Pixels for Any Print Size

Multiply each side in inches by the resolution. At 300 PPI, an 8×10 inch print needs 8 x 300 = 2400 pixels by 10 x 300 = 3000 pixels. The University of Colorado Boulder Print Lab calls 300 dpi the ideal print resolution, and 240 dpi the lowest recommended for photographic quality.
